Whenever you feel frazzled with frustration, remind yourself that you can always reclaim your sense of peace by the simple, yet transformative practice of gratitude. When you are grateful, fear disappears and abundance appears, or as one anonymous quote referred to it: “Gratitude can re-frame the past, bring peace for today, and create a vision for tomorrow.”
When things seem to be getting out of control around you, take a moment to reflect inwardly. Just like the axis of a wheel, when you return to your center, you find stillness. Take a moment to catch your breath here.
Place your palm over your heart, and rest your attention there as you take a series of deep, full body breaths. Now, give yourself permission to open your heart to all that you’re grateful for in your life. Identify three things for which you’re grateful, that give you inspiration, guidance and support. Feel them one by one.
Practicing gratitude provides a doorway to a much deeper part of who you are: from here, love blooms naturally, inspiration flows automatically, creativity bubbles up, and compassion emanates… Giving yourself a few minutes to practice gratitude can help you see your circumstances from a new angle, one with grace and abundant opportunities.
It is from this inner locus that we can re frame, re-calibrate and regain our calm and vigor to persevere.
So, remember, when frustration and despair arise, invoke the attitude of gratitude. Gratitude is the bottomless well within you and all around you.
